About DINA
The Development Information Network of Arkansas (DINA) is a service of the Institute for Economic Advancement (IEA) at the University of
Arkansas at Little Rock. DINA is managed by the IEA's web support team , providing content to serve the needs of the economic, industrial,
and community development organizations within Arkansas.
DINA includes a wealth of information about Arkansas, its cities, utilities, universities, and nonprofit organizations involved in the
economic development efforts for the state. This and other information comes to viewers via the World Wide Web.
DINA was launched in October 1995 at the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Arkansas Annual Meeting. Since
that time, DINA has grown into an economic development alliance that joins over twenty-five communities and over twenty economic development
organizations throughout Arkansas.
Through its web support team, the IEA provides design, construction and maintenance of development websites, and links to all websites
that include information pertaining to community or economic development. IEA also provides technical assistance and training in Internet
use to communities throughout the state.
DINA's contribution to the economic development of the state is evident in extensive homepages for community developers, averaging over
400 pages of information per community. Other benefits of the project are evident in Internet search results for Arkansas development
information, user volume, and relocation and investment success stories. By far the greatest success of the project to the university
has been the extensive and ongoing contact between the university and external users in community development groups across the state.
